The SIM-Integrated Idea Management system has a very powerful
reporting system. Features include:
 |
Stored report feature allows you to save settings of reports you frequently
run. These can even be set to process daily, weekly, monthly, quarter or
annually. It also means you can fully automate running reports, only deciding
where to route the report to (e.g., a printer or Word Document).
|
 |
At installation our trained staff normally works with you to set up these
stored reports so you can quickly get the reports you want without having to
initially learn our powerful reporting engine. You decide whether you need to
be come a reporting expert or let SIM do the work. |
 |
Reports that fit the audience receiving them. End-users typically want lists of
their ideas whereas senior management wants consolidated statistics. |
 |
Key statistical reports link their data directly to Microsoft Excel to create
graphs using Office Automation.
|
 |
By changing how SIM works at installation or via a telephone support call, we
can change how reports look. This can include labels or what information
appears. |
 |
Besides directly printing a SIM report, you can get a copy of the actual report
data. Additionally an electronic copy of the printed output can be saved as a
Word document, Adobe Portable Data Format (PDF) file, Excel Spreadsheet or HTML
page. This can be e-mailed to end-users. We normally recommend the PDF output
if your organization supports it (average end-users cannot change the data).
All the sample reports are saved with the PDF option in SIM and the graphs were
automatically generated via SIM by Excel. |
 |
Many of the SIM report layout templates can be fully modified to fit your local
needs. TQS can also create special custom reports. The most frequent need for
custom reports is a customized link to your payroll system that includes a
report to go to payroll (paper or electronic). |
Let's take a look at a few of many different SIM reports you can use. You can
click on the link to view the report. When Adobe PDF Reader loads you can zoom
in/out to look at different sections of the report or print a copy.
 |
First a simple list of open
suggestions (PDF 19 KB) for the program. The administrator may want to
review this weekly. Similar lists could be provided to submitters listing just
their ideas. |
 |
A graph breaking down the common
idea types (Excel - 15 KB) many idea programs use. |
 |
This powerful management report displays
roll-ups for each department (PDF 13 KB) so a manager can see the data
that only relates to the areas that report to them. In this example there is a
table of contents with each manager listed on the left so they can click to get
to their section. Key columns of data can also automatically graphed in Excel. |
Now we will review how a single SIM report that can be used in several different
ways. This is our overall statistical report that can be printed for a specific
manager as well as for different time periods. In this case it was run by month
for the first 10 months of 2002. We just as easily could have done this by
quarter or compared the last 5 years. NOTE: The data used for these three
examples is different than that used for the previous sample reports.
